El proyecto escultórico de Coderch y Malavia sitúa el cuerpo humano al centro del discurso plástico. Diversas formas importantes en torno a la figura humana idealizada. Y una visión clara: utilizar la belleza como herramienta de trabajo diario. Coderch y Malavia se unieron en 2015 para el trabajo escultórico, una delicada técnica que guía el trabajo desde el taller de estilismo hasta la fundición final en bronce.
Coderch, nacido en 1959 en Castella del Vallés, Barcelona, se licenció en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Barcelona en 1984. Malavia nació en Oneati, Guipúzcoa, en 1970 y se licenció en la Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia en 1993. Tras conocerse, descubrieron su afinidad artística, lo que los llevó a emprender este nuevo proyecto, que sigue la línea de maestros como Mayor, Rodin, Marigny y Bourdel.
La originalidad de su trabajo radica en su forma de trabajar, ya que realizan la obra a cuatro manos y comparten la creación de la obra. Además, comparten los valores de su creación artística, como el compromiso social con la igualdad, el medio ambiente y la infancia.
Sus proyectos se distinguen por su autenticidad: exploran diferentes actitudes humanas ante la vida, en las que la imitación de la naturaleza está muy presente, encontrando emoción a través de su trabajo, mostrando los sentimientos que rigen al ser humano, y la relación entre la belleza y la disciplina se combinan. Las personas son el centro de su arte.
Coderch y Malavia se han posicionado desde sus inicios como destacados artistas figurativos. Ganaron el Premio Reina Sofía de Pintura y Escultura en 2017 por su obra “Hamlet” y el primer premio en el XIV Concurso Salón Internacional ARC en 2019 por su escultura “Danza de los Cisnes”. Medallón escultura Mariano Benlliure, Premio TIAC de Arte o Premio Arcadia Contemporáneo.
Además del reconocimiento nacional e internacional, sus obras se encuentran en colecciones privadas en varios países de Europa, Asia y América. En España han expuesto en las ciudades más importantes como A Coruña, Barcelona, Granada, Ibiza, Madrid, Valencia o Málaga. Actualmente trabajan en Valencia, en una antigua nave industrial de 400 metros cuadrados, que es también lugar de exposiciones privadas de todas sus obras.

Coderch and Malavia’s sculptural project places the human body at the centre of their visual discourse, creating diverse forms based upon the idealised human figure. Their vision is clear: to use beauty as a tool for daily work.
Coderch and Malavia joined forces in 2015 to produce their sculptural works, using a delicate technique that sees their pieces evolve from the design workshop to the final casting in bronze.
Coderch, born in 1959 in Castella del Vallés, Barcelona, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona in 1984. Malavia was born in Oneati, Guipúzcoa, in 1970 and graduated from the San Carlos Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia in 1993. After meeting, they discovered their artistic affinity, which led them to undertake this new project, which follows the line of masters such as Mayor, Rodin, Marigny and Bourdel.
The originality of their practice lies in their collaborative approach, as they work with four hands and share in the creation of each piece. They also express their shared values through their works, such as their social commitment to equality, the environment and the wellbeing of children.
Their projects are distinguished by their authenticity: they explore different human attitudes to life, in which the imitation of nature is very present. People are at the centre of their art; seeking emotion, showing the feelings that govern human beings, and the relationship between beauty and discipline.
Since their beginnings, Coderch and Malavia have positioned themselves as outstanding figurative artists. They were awarded the Queen Sofia Prize for Painting and Sculpture in 2017 for their work “Hamlet” and the first prize in the XIV International ARC Salon Competition in 2019 for their sculpture “Dance of the Swans”. They have also received the Mariano Benlliure Sculpture Medallion, the TIAC Art Prize and the Contemporary Arcadia Prize.
In addition to national and international recognition, their works are represented in private collections in several countries throughout Europe, Asia and America. In Spain, they have exhibited in major cities such as A Coruña, Barcelona, Granada, Ibiza, Madrid, Valencia and Malaga. They currently work in Valencia, in an old industrial building of 400 square metres, which is also a venue for private exhibitions of all their works.

Le projet sculptural de Coderch et Malavia place le corps humain au centre du discours plastique. Diverses formes importantes autour de la figure humaine idéalisée. Coderch et Malavia se sont associés en 2015 pour le travail de sculpture, une technique délicate qui guide l’œuvre de l’atelier de stylisme à la coulée finale dans le bronze.
Coderch, né en 1959 à Castella del Vallés, Barcelone, est diplômé de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Barcelone en 1984. Malavia est né à Oneati, Guipúzcoa, en 1970 et a obtenu un diplôme de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts San Carlos de Valence en 1993. Après s’être rencontrés, ils ont découvert leurs affinités artistiques, ce qui les a amenés à entreprendre ce nouveau projet, qui s’inscrit dans la lignée de maîtres tels que Mayor, Rodin, Marigny et Bourdel.
L’originalité de leur travail réside dans leur façon de travailler, puisqu’ils travaillent à quatre mains et partagent la création de l’œuvre. Ils partagent également les valeurs de leur création artistique, comme leur engagement social en faveur de l’égalité, de l’environnement et des enfants.
Leurs projets se distinguent par leur authenticité : ils explorent les différentes attitudes humaines face à la vie, dans lesquelles l’imitation de la nature est très présente, trouvant l’émotion à travers leur travail, montrant les sentiments qui gouvernent les êtres humains, et la relation entre beauté et discipline sont combinées. Les gens sont au centre de son art.
Coderch et Malavia se sont positionnés dès leurs débuts comme des artistes figuratifs exceptionnels. Ils ont remporté le prix Reine Sofia de peinture et de sculpture en 2017 pour leur œuvre “Hamlet” et le premier prix du XIVe concours international du salon ARC en 2019 pour leur sculpture “Danse des cygnes”. Outre une reconnaissance nationale et internationale, leurs œuvres font partie de collections privées dans plusieurs pays d’Europe, d’Asie et d’Amérique. En Espagne, ils ont exposé dans les villes les plus importantes telles que La Corogne, Barcelone, Grenade, Ibiza, Madrid, Valence et Malaga. Ils travaillent actuellement à Valence, dans un ancien bâtiment industriel de 400 mètres carrés, qui est également un lieu d’exposition privé de toutes leurs œuvres.
